Rainbow Arts Collective is an organization dedicated to creating spaces and opportunities for Maine’s queer arts community. We hope to provide support to artists in a variety of artistic disciplines to strengthen the connection between LGBTQIA+ artists across the state.

About Us:
River Nation
River (they/he) is a Director and Treasurer of Rainbow Arts Collective. River is a local artist who has operated his online Etsy store, ThisIsRNation, since 2015, making clothes, accessories and art prints. Originally from Alabama, they graduated with a degree in biology in 2016 and found their new home in Portland, ME in 2019. They worked as a chemist for the past 3 years, while still participating in art events when time allowed.
Shelby Arnold
Shelby (they/them) is a Director of Rainbow Arts Collective. Shelby’s crafting experience covers a wide range, from paper crafts and needle felting to 3D modeling and electronics. They love sharing knowledge and learning new things as a member of the Queer Craft Club community!
